Why is the main character of every anime always so oblivious to advances from other women? Two girls nearly confessed to him in one episode and he acted like nothing was going on! Is this guy seriously gonna hold out until it's Nagisa that confesses her love?

Yeah, you can totally tell this is an adaptation of a visual novel.

In the visual novel is Nagisa the obvious choice the novel wants you to make? Are all the other girls "bad endings"?

But she's the only character on the cover, and she's the character that the anime went with.

Personally I would have gone with Kyou.

Cause she's the first girl you meet

Y'know, walking up the hill to school and there she is standing by herself randomly saying "Anpan"

Personally, I would have went with Tomoyo.

Well, yeah, cause they made her the first girl you meet.

Because they totally wanted her to be the main girl.

Hm?
I thought you were asking if she was obvious?

It's not like the VN forces her on you.

Well regardless, I like Nagisa, so whatevs.

I binge-watched 10 episodes the other day so I'm officially over halfway done the first season. Random thought: Why do the different seasons of an anime sometimes have different titles? Season 2 of Psycho Pass is called Psycho Pass 2, and season 2 of Clannad is called Clannad After Story. There's also Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, but there's like a million different seasons under each title. It's kinda weird.

Fuko's story arc was kinda sweet. She's a pretty dumb character but I kinda felt for her during the whole wedding thing. They never really explain why people started forgetting her though. Was it because her condition in the hospital was getting worse? But then everyone miraculously remembered her on the wedding day, so what the heck happened? She keeps hinting that she'll return so I guess I'll be seeing her again later on.

I also finished Kotomi's little story arc. Her's was kinda meh. I like her as a character but her whole family backstory is weird. So her parents left to go deliver a thesis, but the thesis was actually just a letter to their daughter written as if they knew it would be their last words to her? And the briefcase with the teddy bear kept getting passed between random people for years? It was just kinda boring. And why the heck did Fuko appear randomly during a single scene?

Are these story arcs like the different paths in the VN? Like, if I were to go with Nagisa would I have missed Kotomi's whole story? Not like that would have been a huge loss though.

Why is Assassin's Creed Unity not Assassin's Creed 5?

Yes, they are different paths.

TV show seasons aren't traditionally considered to be sequels.

And that's weird considering Tomoya actually plays a fairly big part in Kitomi's backstory.

If you're asking why they're separated in the first place, it's to do with air time.
Long running shows gotta pay for their slot on TV, so when it comes time that they want to either improve their animation or get new staff or something like that, they either gotta make the old team do filler, pay to have the show on re-runs, or give up their slot.

So what they do is opt to give up the slot of the old show, and secure that slot to replace it with the "new show" where they get their new managment n' stuff.

Other long running anime like One Piece and Rurouni Kenshin didn't have to do that cause either their management and or tools remain unchanged, or their popularity was soo high, that even if they gave up their slot to be on hiatus, they could easily get it back.

That is my vague recollection of the explanation a friend gave me.

But the time between the finale of Clannad airing and the premier of After Story airing is only 7 months. After Story also had the same staff working on it as the first season.

Well the VN expansion itself is called "Clannad:After Story", so maybe they wanted to be name faithful n' stuff.

Why is Tomoya such a jerk? He knows that every girl around him is hopelessly in love with him (at least, I hope he knows. He can't be that dumb, can he?) but he keeps stringing them along and giving them hope that he'd ever go out with them. Just tell them that you only wanna be friends! I kinda feel bad for Sunohara; he doesn't get anybody!

Haku, didn't you criticize 5 Centimeters per Second for the same thing (even though it wasn't anywhere near as bad as this)?

And did Kyou and Ryou both have a crush on him? Damn, how did those sisters think it was gonna work out?

Also, I just found out that there's an adult visual novel where Tomoya gets with Tomoyo and totally bangs her, complete with sex scenes. I'm sure you'll be able to find a translation, Haku.
