I mean fuck, I think even a toddler could pick up on the point of my comments, Elija. Either you really need some sleep or some time away from the internet to let the mush in your skull reform into a brain.

Those are really mean words.

Man, you guys really are 12.
Not having seen Mad Max is like not having seen Aliens.

Mad Max is a Trilogy of Movies released between 1979 and 1985. It's about Officer Max Rockatansky who eventually becomes, well, mad. The Movies are set in a post-nuclear war Australia and where also filmed in Australia. The first movie was pretty low-budget and despite being overly popular in Australia, didnt have much fame in the US.

George Miller (who later directed Happy Feet, amazingly) had obviously gotten a way bigger budget for Mad Max 2. The US Team responsible for the release thought themselves 'If no one saw Mad Max, how is anyone going to watch Mad Max 2?' and came up with the idea of changing the title to 'The Road Warrior' - and launched their marketing campaign. To massive success. Not only under the audience, but also critically.

(Yes, that's a 100% on Rotten Tomato)

Mad Max is responsible for starting the celebrity status of actor Mel Gibson, had Tina Turner in 'Beyond Thunderdome' - aswell as singing the movies' theme and most of all: Setting the stage for every post-apocalyptic movie afterwards. Things like the Thunderdome or Masterblaster became things you'd often seen. And the look and characters were - and still are - often replicated.

If you saw the Fury Road Trailer you might've thought some of these characters look a bit generic, like maybe out of Borderlands or Fallout? Or maybe you thought of the videogame Rage? Well, that's because those are heavily inspired by Mad Max - Similar to how you cant get past the space marine or ship desgins from Aliens. You'll see references to Mad Max everywhere. Even the new Spongebob Movie has a Mad Max reference. In the trailer where Bikini Bottom gets destroyed, everyone turns into a mad max character.

George Miller also was looking for a developer for a Mad Max Game, which you might've seen the teaser some time ago. It's being developed by the Just Cause guys.

Now, admittely, these movies might be weird to todays audience, but you could pick up the blu-ray collection pretty cheap on amazon nowdays. Honestly, I dont even know what to explain here

Oh yeah, and the iconic V8 Interceptor

Well that explains everything. I thought it was a video game series for some reason.

I've never seen Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Aliens, The Terminator, The Godfather, or any other critically-acclaimed movie series.

But I have seen Shrek.

Don't you think that's a pretty shallow reason not to be friends with someone?

I don't do anything aside from watching movies and playing games. So, yeah.
Either that or I'd have the person watch through all of these movies when they come over, if interested.
