And this tsundere is annoying as f*ck. There's only 3 characters I enjoy in that show, one of which dies if I recall correctly.
And the plot doesn't interest me.

Well, i the Anime is quite worse since they weirldy rewrote things... for... some reason?
Infact, i'm not even sure how the Anime is gonna fix this issue, unless they do their own thing... (Season 3 coming)

As for the Manga... The Manga is still gonig but i'm pretty sure i can say it rolling towards an end.

she's an Angel.
An Angel that lived as a human. (The only other one aside from the man of synampse and daedelus left?).
The Angels (or, the man of synapse to be specific) have a device were they hybernate and basically "dream"-
which gives them a life on earth.
When she got hit by the truck the dream ended and she got sent back to synapse.

The Man of Synapse then wanted to dispose of Hiyori since he hates all fellow angels though...
but she begged to let her dream once more, to go back to Tomoki.

So he sent her back... but turned the Angel into an Angeloid. A War Machine like Ikaros.
Programmed to blow up together with him, so she can indeed stay together forever with Tomoki.

... and afterwards lots of stuff happens.

they obviously save her aaaand... she did die now (in the latest chapter, a few days ago).
But she was alive until now and lived "normally" as an Angeloid.
Tomoki starts to be... an ass to her... since he wants to have a human girlfriend. Not a robot one.

Aaaand, well, she then thought she could never reach Tomoki's heart again and basically did suicide.
... which lead to Tomoki basically doing suicide and then cliffhanger.

_{I might add that none of this will work in the Anime, since they rewrote alot.}

I like the story, characters, world, humour, art.
...Not Sohara.

I just like how Suu Minazuki writes and draws.
I like how he can be so lighthearted at one moment and completely serious the next and that in a seamless transition.
And still have good level of story going on.

I've started reading his other suff, though only managed to read one of those up until now, aside from SnO.

The planned third season was cacelled by the animation studio.
They'll repurpose some of their Animation for a second Sora no Otoshimono movie instead.

This change in developments is being blamed on the manga and its radical change in style.
The Manga has been getting darker, more serious and more story-forcused (since its clearly coming to end) in just two or three volumes and apparently there's not enough jokes and random gags to follow through with another 13 episode series.

Instead we'll get an End of Evangelion type thing.

It's just the way japanese story telling works.
They feature an extreme contrast between the normal and the dramatic, that way you feel more when things go down. Or atleast, that's the idea. Movies like Alien, Aliens, Spider-Man, Avatar also do this.

THAT SAID...
Sora no Otoshimono Final: Eternal, My Master comes out in Theatres April 26, 2014 in Japan.
It will conclude the Anime Adaption of 'Sora no Otoshimono'.




Oh shit, different animation studio. It looks so odd with the flashbacks of the animation of the other studio, lol.
That said, this is going to be some ending on its own. The Anime diviated with Season 2 and the first movie so heavily I doubt they could go back to what is going on the Manga.

Speaking of which, the 'mood whiplash' was finally got its explaination - its the final arc.
Lots of revelations. And I mean, a lot. And a few deaths.

And by few deaths I mean its more about who's still alive than it is about who's dead
So many epic and sad deaths.

The Final Volume of Sora No Otoshimono is set to come out by the end of February.
I have a feeling it's going to be some incredibly bittersweet ending ala wolfs rain. lol.

The Comedy in Sora no Otoshimono is something that lives off of timing and pacing. Especially the slapstick jokes.
The Anime lacks that precise timing, so it just comes off as mean-spirited when Sohara hits Tomoki.
