Title: TGN Radio (TheGameNinja's Blog)
Post by: TheGameNinja on January 25, 2010, 03:58:47 PM
So, today I went to the dentist. I have never gotten so many shots of anesthetic as I did today. I still can't feel part of the left side of my face. I only mentioned the the anesthetic because of what happened while I was eating dinner. I got up to get something to drink after having eaten half of my dinner. While I'm pouring it, some of it gets on my finger. I lick it off, and there's blood on my finger. I look at my finger, trying to see if it's cut or something, but there's nothing. Then, I put my finger on my lip. I was chewing on my lip while I was eating, and I couldn't feel it. :o I still can't feel it. Man this is gonna hurt tomorrow. :'(
1-25-10

Well, oddly enough, my lip didn't hurt today. ;D Anyway, I didn't do much today. I picked up Mass Effect 2, but I won't be able to play it until at least tomorrow. After we were done with classes today, my brother and I went to Books-A-Million and picked up the new Shonen Jump and Naruto vol. 39. Then we swung by GameStop and, like I said, picked up Mass Effect 2. Then we went by F.Y.E., but we didn't get anything there. ::) Then we went home, and from then until a few minutes ago I tried to figure out DVD Architect Studio so I could submit my Yu Yu Hakusho AMV for a local mini anime convention. Tomorrow, we'll head out to where the mini-con's going to be to drop it off. The con's on Saturday, so anyone who might be in the area, drop by the F.Y.E. in the Madison Square Mall in Huntsville around noon this Saturday. :)
1-26-10

Today we went out to the Madison Square Mall so I could deliver my AMV. There's 10 entrants (so far) this time, so wish me luck! After that, we ran home and then I left to pick up my little brother and sister from school. On the way back from getting my sister (and on my way to get my brother) I ran out of gas. >:( I think there's something wrong with the sensors in my car's dashboard or something. My dad says he's going to put it in the shop soon, but I've gotta deal until he does. While I was stuck on the road, tons of people drove past me, but only one bothered to stop and ask if I needed help. The old dude was nice, but couldn't help me, so I thanked him and he left. Then, the woman whose house I happened to be stuck in front of helped me push the car out of the way. Finally, my mom got there, after having picked up my brother, with some gas and I got to go home. :) Oh, and in Biology we dissected owl pellets today. :o Now, I need to get finished with my math homework and read the next chapter for World History. I still haven't gotten to play Mass Effect 2. Oh well. I might get to play it if I can finish my homework quickly, but if not, I'll get to play it tomorrow. ;D
1-27-10

Like I said on another thread, my 360 red ringed today. Which means I have to get it fixed before I get to play Mass Effect 2. -_- Anyway, not much else to say. I spent today getting ready for a video I'm going to make soon. Anyway, guess I'll go to bed. It's past 1AM now. ::)

I spent today being bored. I didn't do anything. I played a little of Sonic Adventure, and I got the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack. I think that might be my all time favorite soundtrack for a video game. Gusty Garden Galaxy (Wind Garden) is just amazing. I want to work on an AMV, but I didn't feel like finding all the video today. I've got one part of it done, but the rest is going to take awhile. If you want to help, let me know of any anime with ghosts or monsters in it, AND I need 4 anime characters that fight ghosts, preferably male. Tomorrow's the mini anime con. I don't know if I'll cosplay. I might. If I do, it'll be Dr. Derek Stiles from the Trauma Center games. I really don't want to spend a bunch of money on fixing my 360. I'd rather get a new one. I need a job. :-\ Guess I'll play Beyond Good and Evil until the 360 issue is dealt with. A lot of games are coming out soon I want. The only one that's only on 360 is Alan Wake, so I have until March to fix the thing. Other games coming up I want are Heavy Rain, Pokemon SoulSilver, and Final Fantasy XIII (but I hate what they're doing to the theme song outside of Japan >:(). Dragonball season 3 comes out in February, too. I have a math test on Tuesday. :( I'm diggin' my programming class, though. :) I've never known anything about programming, so this is really interesting. I wish I was taking a film class, though. I probably won't get to until 2011. >:( Oh well. I've rambled enough for now. G'night.

F.Y.E. is an electronics store. :P
It stands for "For Your Entertainment."

So today we went to F.Y.E. for the mini con. I won two trivia contests! The first was a group contest and I answered all of our questions. XD Our team won little plastic Gundams for that. The second was singles and I won a Pokemon wall sticker of Dialga. This makes the second time I've won the singles trivia contest there. :D As it turns out, there were only two AMV entries, so instead of competing, we both got prizes. I got some figure from something I've never heard of (Pia Carrot), but it's a cool looking figure. I also competed in the art contest (which I won last time), but I didn't win. While I was there, I bought all three R.O.D. soundtracks; the one from the R.O.D. OVA and the two from R.O.D. -the TV-. I also got the Tenchi Muyo! movie collection. I ended up cosplaying as Dr. Derek Stiles from the Trauma Center games after all. I didn't win any cosplay contests, but I didn't expect to, since I'd worn it there before. The first time, I forgot my stethoscope. This time, I forgot my gloves. :-\ Well, I had fun, and I'm looking forward to the next one.

I've gotta keep this short. I need to get to bed. Today, after church, my brothers and I went to one of the GameStops here in town for that Pikachu-colored Pichu they're giving away for Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum and we reserved HeartGold and SoulSilver while we were there (my twin brother got HeartGold and my little brother and I both got SoulSilver, since I played Silver back in the day ;D). After that, I went to a small town nearby to see if the GameStop there had a power supply for my 360. They did, AND it was the right one. I took it home, plugged it in, and low and behold my 360 was alive! I popped in and have been playing Mass Effect 2 since then. Well, I gotta go to bed. That's all for now.

Oops, I forgot to update this. ;D I didn't do much besides play Mass Effect 2 the past few days. Oh, I got my 100th subscriber on YouTube yesterday! 8) I'll probably be playing that game all day today, too. Guess that's it for now. :)

Thanks!

I aced my pre-calculus AND history tests! ;D I've been reading Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei lately. I like the manga, especially the art, but there are so many translation notes. :o Another day of Mass Effect 2. I'm on disc 2 now, but I hear you have to go back to disc 1 for the end of the game. Never heard of a game doing that, but, whatever. 8) I hope I have this game beaten by the time Heavy Rain comes out...
2-4-10

It's late. Or early. This is the 5th's entry, but it's almost 4 AM on the 6th, now. I did some cleaning today because some family is coming from out of town. We're going to go to Chili's tomorrow, too. The Duelist League is tomorrow as well. I hope someone wants to play the Naruto card game this week, I haven't played in a long time. I'm going to try to get the new Gravekeeper cards for one of my Yu-Gi-Oh! decks. Still playing Mass Effect 2. I think I'm close to beating it. Hopefully I can finish it this weekend. I'm tired. Goin' to bed...

Haven't updated in a few days. Oh well, haven't done much. Played Half Life. Avoided homework. Stayed up late doing homework because I avoided it earlier. Forgot to study for Biology test. I think I did okay on it though. Thing is, we only had to answer one of the three essay questions, but I answered all three on accident. :o Maybe I'll get extra credit... or maybe she'll count off because I didn't follow the instructions (I've had teachers do that before >:(). Gonna go reserve Heavy Rain tomorrow. Lucky Europeans. You guys get a super special awesome limited edition with a really cool box that feels like it was rained on, while we in America get crappy "sex sells" box art and one download episode if we reserve it. Well, I gotta get to bed. That's all for now.

Didn't do much of anything yesterday other than play some Half Life and Sonic Adventure DX. I did finish editing a new video of my collection of various otaku-related stuff. I'll throw the video down below this post. Today my brother and I went to The Comic Shop for the local Yu-Gi-Oh! group. I lost a lot today. TT^TT Ah well. I'm the best there at the Naruto card game. >:D Not much else to say. If you get the North American feed of [Adult Swim], they're going to start airing Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood tonight. WATCH IT SO THEY'LL AIR MORE ANIME!!! ...anyway, that's all for now.

Huh. Haven't updated this in awhile. Whatever. My brother and I went to the flea market last weekend. Believe it or not, there are THREE stores in there that sell new, used, and CLASSIC video games! And, most surprisingly, there's one that sells anime figures and other crap like that! I LOVE CRAP LIKE THAT!! Oh, and, least surprisingly, there are about five stores selling thousands of bootleg CDs and DVDs. You guys want Avatar on DVD? I can go get it for you! XD Anyway, we go up there so often that we've made friends with the owner of the anime shop. She gives us a little bit of a discount, and will even order stuff for us! All we bought this time was a Kagami figure from Lucky Star. She just sent me an eMail saying she just got the last Luck Star figure we need to finish off this set. That will probably be the last figure we buy for awhile, though. A lot of games are coming out soon. Ace Attorney Investigations is already out. Heavy Rain tomorrow. Final Fantasy XIII, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, and Fragile next month. And then Trauma Team and Alan Wake in May. And we still need to re-subscribe to Shonen Jump and Yen Plus. AND we need to register for the anime conventions we're going to, PersaCon and HamaCon (Kami-Con too, but that one's free ;D). We should get jobs. :-\

Well, that's about it for me. Til next time, I guess. :D

-uses Phoenix Down on blog-

Okay. So. I haven't posted anything here in months. I was going to give some reason as to why I haven't posted here, but it's mostly just forgetfulness and laziness. Anyway...

I actually did some editing today! I'm in the process of redoing an old video that Windows Movie Maker (aka TEH SATAN) fought me tooth and nail to finish and YouTube promptly raped when I uploaded it. I'll post a link on another post here once I finish. Switching topics, I hate calculus. At least, I hate taking it over the summer. I'm basically taking a whole semester in half the time. I HATE IT. I would have rather taken it during the fall semester. My mom is trying to convince me to transfer to a different university than I've been planning on JUST because we could stay at home instead of moving out. She practically forced my brother and I to go to community college our first two years. I love her, but she needs to realize that we need to get out of the house and live on our own. Heck, we're planning on transferring to a graduate school in CALIFORNIA after we graduate. I can't imagine how she'll deal with us moving to the other frickin side of the country.

...I've rambled long enough. Oh, yeah. I'm running for mod. VOTE FOR ME, MINDSLAVES!!

*yawn* I'm tired. Okay, so yesterday we saw Toy Story 3. Awesome movie. Better than 2. Not that 2 was bad, but 3 is better. Today, I read some of Lucky Star vol. 5. Not much else to say. Til next time, I guess. XD

I realized today that I'm going to miss my hometown when I move out.

It's not like I'm moving that far away. 2-3 hours or so. But I always figured I'd be ready to get out as fast as I could. But now I'm getting all nostalgic everywhere I look. I almost lost it driving to Chick-Fil-A. I'm getting emotional over a 2 minute drive to a fast food place. Its not like I'm not ready to leave. And its not that I don't want to go. But the whole leaving town thing... really makes growing up hit hard. :3

I realized the same thing...only when I was a baby. I'd never leave this place and on the off chance we somehow manage to keep it until I'm working I want to try and buy it. I love this place even though it isn't the greatest, I mean, you always have that hometown nostalgia, even if it's a crap heap. :3

And how is this TGN Radio when it's all text based? FAKER!!! >:U

You can't hear this? You don't have the voices in your head?!

I've always know I was going to leave. When I was younger, it was just wanting to be somewhat on my own after being in a house so full of people for so long. Recently it's changed to there being no way I'll get a job here. Doing what I want to do anyway.

Maybe I'll come back once I've got a family of my own. I don't think I've ever been somewhere better for raising kids.

Just went to a few thrift stores. I got the original theatrical version box set of the original Star Wars trilogy (VHS), a strategy guide for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (N64), Resident Evil (PS1, long box), and an original SNES (already have the Jr.). Total spent: $34.89. The best deal by far had to be the $6 SNES, even though it didn't come with any cords or controllers.

Okay. So. I haven't updated this in half a year, so I'll just ramble about some stuff.

2 weeks til the semester's over. A test tomorrow, three exams during April 30 - May 3, then (as long as I pass Statistics) I'm a college senior.

I took a mass communication class this semester. It was awesome. Cool teacher. Never had to study. I need more classes like this.

I've got a huge backlog of games and DVDs... gotta try to knock some of that out this summer.

I started an animation news/opinion thing. I've been pimping it pretty hard and I'll probably keep doing so until either it gets popular or I give up on it.

Title: Re: TGN Radio (TheGameNinja's Blog)

Only news articles so far, but I'll have opinion articles eventually. Maybe reviews of DVDs, toys, etc. I try to stream new episodes of shows when they air too.

It's focused on western animation, but I'll have anime and other stuff there too.

I also said this on another thread, but if anyone's interested in writing for the site, let me know.

It would certainly be cool if it got big. I got the idea because I couldn't find a decent site like that. Toonzone is really slow and doesn't cover as much as I'd like to see. And Nick and More is too formal.

It would certainly be cool if it got big. I got the idea because I couldn't find a decent site like that. Toonzone is really slow and doesn't cover as much as I'd like to see. And Nick and More is too formal.
Just as long you don't turn into a 2nd Bioware...

Huh.... BioWare starts to suck when EA bought it out...
Coincidence?

The site's basically dead, I still plan on doing something with it but it's inactive for now. I still don't like how boring and slow to update the bigger toon news sites are though.

This morning, my heart started beating really fast and hard. I've never felt anything like it. Spooked the heck out of me, but the doctor said I was fine. :/

Finishing up the summer semester next week. I'll be done with school forever in 15 months.

I don't have internet access, so this won't be posted until awhile after, but I just got back from the Zelda Symphony. It was incredible. If you have the chance, GO! I got teary eyed a few times, especially during the Twilight Princess movement. As the music was played, montages and cutscenes from the games were shown. After an introductory medley, they played the theme of the golden goddesses, after which the concert is named. The first thing they played after that was a medley of dungeon themes from the 2D games, then Ocarina of Time, then Wind Waker (which the conductor conducted with the Wind Waker), then Twilight Princess, then A Link to the Past. Then there were THREE encores. First was Link's Awakening, then Gerudo Valley, then Majora's Mask (which is apparently a recent addition). Three standing ovations. And we clapped so much my hands are still sore. I got a t-shirt and a poster, I'll get some pictures later.

At Disney World now. :P

I have 2 of anything I'm selling...

I bought the E7 manga before I bought the special edition DVDs, and those came with the manga. So I have doubles of most of the manga. So I'm selling it.

I asked my girlfriend, Nikki, to marry me while we were in Cincinnati for Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions. She said yes!
